Dear Parents
I once more take my
pen in hand to inform
you of my health. I am well
at present and hope you
are the same I am cooking for
eight men I have good time
if the enemy does come out they
will get whipped we are [7?] miles from
Richmond yet I do not think
they will make any advance
on the lines of our pickets
there are in our regt about [200?]
men able to do duty the rest
being sick in the fight we
lost 25 men in all killed
wounded and missing if
do not think of any thing to
write if you do you must
