Collection - Roger Noble Papers (c.00122)

Roger Noble enlisted as a Private in Company G, 7th Infantry Regiment Michigan in August 1861 at the age of 27. He died on 20 Dec 1862 at Lacy House Hospital. This collection consists of three Civil War letters from Roger Noble of the 7th Michigan Infantry to his family in Michigan. He describes daily war life and tells of looting Robert E. Lee's plantation. The collection also contains a newspaper photo of Noble printed in 1961.
