Feb 19th 1863


Dear Father
I express you [cutout]
this morning $20, which [cutout]
hope you will accept an [cutout]
put to such use as you a[cutout]
most prudent. I also
send you the receipt from
the Express Co. and you
can get it by calling at the
office at Buchanan.
For fear I may not
get you another chance to
write before leaving here I will
state that we leave for Washington
on Monday morning. So th[cutout]

from the state will be a

to see that peace is restored
to our country. I bid you
