Description: This document is Sargeant Edwin Havens' "Oath of Identity", swearing he is "the identical Edwin R. Havens." Image A004084 is the front of this document and is Havens' discharge paper from the Michigan Cavalry, which he had joined in 1862. At the time of his discharge from service, Havens was serving at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas.
