Miss Miller Oct 1 1862 Miss
Mark, received a letter from
you to day as he is on duty at Head Quarv
he asked me to write a short letter to you
I dont think I can adopt his style but you
will please imagine my name is Flower
two days marching brot us through
from Grand Junction Price is
Fortified on the Tala Hatchie six miles
from us it was rumored to day
at Head Quarters that Price was evacuating
We have got alarge army here Grant has
forty thous and and it is rumored that
Sherman has as many more
there will be a battle to morrow unless
Price retreats fast (that is the Supposition)
All of your friends are well I have
not heard from Frank since we left
Corrinth we had heavy skirmishing
all day yesterday Troops have been merching
abreast us all day the 125 illinoi has just
passed what do you think of Illinoi
Michigan is one fifth larger
