        My dear Childe
              this day finds
me well we left Camp
Isabella the 29 at noon
we came to the river
yesterday crost the river
amid a shour of [illegible in original]
[habe?] had one of are
men kilde in our CO
we holde the ground
that we [held?] last
fall we think we
are agoing to gane a
victory I must close
for the male is to
go love to all from
your father with
strong regarde
