October 31st 1865
The thing has “busted” and long ere this
reaches you I shall be on the way after it.. I have
just been releived from duty on this Court martial and
will report to the regiment soon. We shall probably
start for Leavenworth on Thursday morning and
get home about next 4th of July. Kill the old
rooster and make preparations for a huge time.
Im disgusted with everything. and fast growing
more so. and if I get home with a blanket I shall
consider myself lucky.
Am ^ no mood for writing a long letter.
